Developing Learners for the Future
The District School will provide a vibrant and excellent, Christ-centered education in a racially and economically diverse community.
The District School seeks to prepare students for the future and develop learners to:
be rooted in God's inexhaustible love for them and the rest of His creation;
be curious lifelong learners;
think critically and biblically to navigate a complex city and world; and
develop wisdom and relationships to serve their community.
Christ-Centered
The District School's culture and curriculum expose learners to the story of God's great love and provides opportunities for them to practice living into God’s story. Learners at The District School will gain a deeper understanding of how all learning is connected to God's infinite design, and discover their place of belonging and purpose.
Meaningful Learning
Learning at The District School engages children’s hands, hearts, and minds. The District School offers an integrated curriculum, where fields of study speak to each other and are part of a common narrative. The District School takes a hands-on approach to learning that sparks curiosity, calls students to apply learning by meeting needs for real people in their community, and develops critical and biblical thinkers and doers.
Racially and Economically Diverse
Forming deep cross-cultural relationships is at the very heart of the Gospel. The District School provides an excellent education to families of all ethnicities and income levels. We offer a sliding-scale tuition, where families pay a right-sized amount. We reserve half of our seats for students from families earning below the median income in DC.
