Join Our School Community

The District School provides students with robust academics, small class sizes, a nurturing environment, and strong partnerships with families. We are rooted in and connected to our community and seek to serve our place with wisdom and compassion.

Tuition and Financial Aid

Cost will never be a barrier preventing a student from joining our community. Part of our mission is to make a vibrant, excellent Christ-centered education accessible to families of all incomes.

The District School offers a sliding tuition scale to make it affordable for all families. Tuition is calculated based on a number of factors, including the Total Family Income and the number of children attending the school. We work with families in the admissions process to find a tuition plan that is affordable.

Admission Criteria

To live into our mission of providing a vibrant and excellent Christian education in a racially and socioeconomically diverse community, we have the following admissions criteria:

Demographics

Economic Diversity: We are committed to serving an economically diverse student body, with about half of our students from households that meet low-income guidelines.

Racial Diversity: We desire to reflect the beauty of DC and serve a racially and ethnically diverse student body.

Commitment

Students: We seek to cultivate an environment where students’ brilliance can flourish. In a supportive environment, students will have high academic and character standards.

Families: We value close partnerships with students’ families and work closely with families to support their children’s education.

Financial Stewardship: All expenses, including teacher salaries, are made possible through tuition and generosity. Prompt payment of tuition commitments is essential to the school's health and is a requirement for continued enrollment.

Readiness

Academics: While The District School is not equipped to support significant learning challenges, small classes enable moderately individualized academic support plans.

Behavior: We want to ensure that each student displays age-appropriate readiness in social and emotional development to set them up for success in the classroom and beyond.
